Range Sesh V1 - a commitment to community and accessible for all golfers. A special thank you to our friends at Sincerely Golf, founded by Spoety, who allowed us to take part in their weekly meet up at Griffith Park.
Golf has a way of bringing people together, both veterans of the game and those who have never touched a club before. One of the toughest challenges to golf is just getting started. It can be easy to forget that we all started at the same exact position, picking up a club for the first time, trying to make sense of the game. No swing thoughts, grip techniques, heck I couldn't understand tempo for years and decided swinging out my shoes was what everyone one did. A meet up like this takes down those barriers of entry, allowing golfer's of all experience and ages to try golf for the first time and for many, improve on their game.
With the help of Dave, we were able to give out free lessons, re-grip clubs and even give new golfer's their first ever club. One of the special moments of this meet up came when a family of four showed up with no experience, no expectations but a desire to try it. Hours had gone by when we released this family had fallen in love with the game. After an hour on the range, learning from Dave and dialing in their swings, as the sun set on the evening, we looked over to see the family now on the chipping green, challenging each other in a game of 'Closest to the pin'. Unprompted, just discovering the game as they see it in from of them and more importantly, time spent as a family.
That's the best part of the game, it brings everyone together. Whether it's the random you get paired or a family night out, golf is for everyone. All you need is a single club and ball, that's it. Golf is a game of accessories - the newest technology, apparel, clubs - but the at it's truest form, golf can be enjoyed by anyone, anywhere, anytime - all you need is a club and a ball (even that's a stretch, I used to chip balls of foil in my living room just to get practice in lol).
The first of many, our Range Sesh program will continue to be a staple in the community, bringing together all aspects of the golfing community. Cheers to many more Range Sesh's!
